Trafalgar Township Historical Society Annual General Meeting has been announced for Tuesday February 4, 2025 at 7pm. at the Palermo Schoolhouse, located east of Dundas & Bronte Rd in Oakville. A key item on the agenda will be the update of the Society’s Bylaws as required by the new regulations. A speaker will be on the agenda following the AGM.
November Speaker: On Tuesday November 5, 2024 at 7:00pm, Gordon Good, O.L.S. Retired, Chair of the Archival and Historical Committee, Association of Ontario Land Surveyors will present “The Founding of Upper and Lower Canada” at the Palermo Schoolhouse, located east of Dundas & Bronte Rd in Oakville.
Open Archives: We host our Open House at the heritage Palermo School House. Check the calendar below for the next scheduled day. Meet our archivist, search our archives, research township family history or just come to reminisce. Admission FREE but voluntary donations are welcome.

Please note that during the winter months, if the Halton School Boards close schools and/or bus routes, we will NOT be open for Open Archives, due to the weather.
Do you have something to donate or contribute? Bring your precious documents and artifacts to one of our open houses and we would be happy to learn about your story! We can add your documents to our archives so that others can enjoy and engage in research. You can also contact Michelle Knoll regarding donations.
We showcased the “Agricultural History of Trafalgar Township” on September 28, 2028 at the restored heritage Palermo schoolhouse in Oakville (Dundas & Bronte Rd.). Our members were on-hand to provide you background on the rich history of Trafalgar Township, that includes Oakville and Bronte.
We welcome exhibitors who wish to participate in our Fall Heritage Day. We’ve started to plan for a bigger event next year on September 27, 2025.
