Trafalgar Day: October 21st, 2025 is the 220th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Amica Glen Abbey is sponsoring the day and is hiring a bus with 25 spaces for Trafalgar Township and Bronte Historical members to join in. The tour starts at the Palermo schoolhouse at 10am with a talk about the schoolhouse. The tour then proceeds to Bronte for a talk about the History of Dundas St., Bronte, the Oak Tree, Woodlands, Merton and some key places in Bronte enroute to Sovereign House all the while mentioning Horatio Nelson! It’s planned to be at Sovereign House at about noon for a tour of the House, a quick bite to eat and then return to the Palermo Schoolhouse.

Speaker Night: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 7pm Join us at the Trafalgar Township Historical Society, 2431 Dundas Street West, Oakville, L6M 4J3 on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 7pm in the Palermo Heritage Schoolhouse. Our guest speaker is David Hobden, noted speaker and local historian, who will present an overview of period letters, images and stories of Issac Brock, George Prevost and enlisted soldiers, that speak to us from the past. We’ll have a Q&A session after the talk, and Tom will be happy to take a look at any jars you’d like to share or learn more about.

Fall Heritage Fair 2025 at the Palermo Schoolhouse: On Saturday, September 27, 2025, we’ll showcase “Agricultural History of Trafalgar Township”. It will be held at the restored Heritage Palermo schoolhouse in Oakville (Dundas Street West & Bronte Road) For last year’s event, see Heritage Day 2024

Schoolhouse Artifacts on Display at QEP: Trafalgar Township Historical Society has a number of their school artifacts on display at the Queen Elizabeth Community Centre Museum Collection. The Museum Collection is open to the public and we’d encourage all community members to visit to see what other museums and historical societies have on display through December 2025. It is located at 2302 Bridge Road, Oakville, ON L6L 3L5.

Open Archives: We host our Open Archives at the heritage Palermo School House. Check the Event Calendar for the next scheduled day, usually the 3rd Friday of the month, except for December and one of the summer months. Meet our archivist, search our archives, research township family history or just come to reminisce. You’ll never know who will show up with a fascinating new piece of local history. Admission FREE and voluntary donations are welcome.

Membership: 2026 Annual Membership Fees and Renewals will due at the Annual General Meeting in January 2026;  $25 for singles; $35 for families and $100 for organizations. Fees paid by e-transfer are preferred.
