The Trafalgar Township Historical Society (TTHS) was formed 20 years ago to preserve and celebrate the Agricultural Heritage of North Oakville. Trafalgar Township was home to the first European settlers of the rural farms and hamlets.
TTHS works to keep these memories alive through a host of activities!
- The Heritage Schoolhouse: Maintaining the 1-room Palermo schoolhouse as a living museum and home to our archives, speakers and events.
- The Archives: Scanning to preserve photos and items in our online archives and well as our archives in the Schoolhouse.
- Research & Sharing: Researching local properties, interests and families and hosting a monthly open house to share stories and artifacts.
- Celebration: We celebrate our area’s rural roots through our fall fair Culture day’s Events in late Sept, that includes a local walking tour
- Speaking Events, Hosting speaking events of local interest
- Preservation: Presenting properties of interest to preserve them, advising on local street names, plaques and other commemorative options.
